Who's Behind TSWC?
Maika C. Henry Northrop, ND
Executive Director, CEO, Naturopathic Doctor:
Maika's unique concept for TSWC grew from her passion for alternative medicine, and she is living proof that it works. For many years, she had ailments that conventional medicine could not address. Not wanting to go through a series of traditional examinations and treatments, including surgery, she chose to seek therapy through less-invasive alternative means, and had remarkable success. Adding fuel to her fire is the fact that both her parents died from diseases (lung cancer and leukemia) caused by their environment, diet and behavior. Maika believes that many people can be saved from these ill-fated diseases if they could learn to understand how environment and behavior plays a major role in one's health. Maika became so immersed in her beliefs that she began working on numerous certifications and degree programs in an effort to offer a more comprehensive and integrative service to her clients. Her credentials are as follows: BS in Alternative Medicine, Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, and she is certified in Colon Hydrotherapy, Reflexology, Oxygen Therapy, Chinese Medicine, Traditional Thai/Meridian Massage, NAET, Biofeedback and Applied Kinesiology (Muscle Testing).
Maika decided to open this special healing Center because it reinforces the importance of environment to wellness and healing. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of TSWC and puts her all into serving her clients. Maika's primary objective is to live a life that is an expression of her higher self and to maintain a path that nurtures her spirit and fulfills her desire to make a difference.

Your Personal Healing Mentor:
"Holistic medicine allows an individual to be treated naturally, with care and self respect and establishes a positive balance between body, mind and spirit. I am here to facilitate this process by being your mentor as you journey into the realm of an exciting and beautiful modality. The goal of natural therapies is to restore health by stimulating and encouraging the body's natural ability to heal itself. Since the body naturally works towards balance and harmony, any healthy change to one’s lifestyle will inevitably provide rewarding results. My role is to encourage this process through teaching the natural way of life which advocates fresh air, pure water, wholesome foods to promote and maintain optimum wellbeing.
Combined with proper nutrition, herbal remedies/energetic medicine (for chronic imbalances), exercise and stress management, you can undoubtedly enjoy the benefits of renewed health, happiness and sustained vitality. As your mentor, my goal is to help you find your way back to feeling healthy and vibrant like nature intended regardless of your current state. As a Naturopath, I promise to abide by the following Code of Ethics: First do no harm. Practice the healing power of nature. Identify and treat the cause. Treat the whole person. Practice prevention.
Prevention is the best "cure". Not discriminate against clients or professionals based on race, religion, age, sex, handicaps, national ancestry, sexual orientation or economic conditions. Promise to abide by all state and local laws. Promise not to exceed my scope of practice, either in abilities or by law. Strive to be objective in the treatments of clients and performance of duties, recognizing the rights of all persons, and my limitations. Distinguish clearly, in public between my statements and actions as an individual and as a representative of Naturopathy. Encourage policy, procedures and personal practices which will enable others to conduct themselves in accordance with the values, goals and objectives of the American Naturopathic Medical Association. Constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating myself to my chosen profession.

Diana Miles
"I joined TSWC as a client in 2003. I found the facility to be welcoming and tranquil. In 2005, I offered to help out because I noticed they were a little short handed and Dr Henry offered me a job. Not only is Dr Henry a wealth of knowledge, she is a very caring, sharing, and a giving person. I truly feel blessed to be working with her and the other employees. She has no problem sharing what she knows and she really makes you feel that you want to achieve the highest level of wellness possible. As I strive to get to that place of wellness, I'll cherish her words of encouragement. And, as I work toward achieving that goal, I'll share the knowledge that I learn to help our clients."
