Pain Reduction Therapy

Pain Reduction Therapy can help by reducing or eliminating pain naturally. We use a combination of Microcurrent technology, Ultrasound, and a specific formula blended just for your particular needs.

Microcurrent Technology for Pain Management

Microcurrent, because of its close proximity of our own body’s current, works on a cellular level. Microcurrent works with your body’s polarity levels and microcirculation to aid in tissue repair. It's been found that ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) in the cell helps to promote protein synthesis and healing. The lack of ATP due to trauma of the tissue results in the decreased production of sodium and an increase in metabolic wastes, which is perceived as pain. The use of Microcurrent at an injured area helps to realign the body’s electrical current, increase the production of ATP, resulting in increased healing and recovery, as well as blocking the pain that is perceived.

The electrical current used in Microcurrent Therapy is so small that it is rarely felt physically, however biologically it has an effect.

Benefits

  • Can help speed the healing process
  • Reduces swelling and inflammation
  • Masks acute and chronic pain
  • Release muscle trigger points
  • Improves soft tissue regeneration

Ultrasound Therapy

  • Ultrasound therapy uses high-energy sound waves (those above the range we hear) to help ease painful joints and muscles. Ultrasound is thought to accelerate the normal resolution time of the inflammatory process by attracting more mast cells to the site of injury. This may cause an increase in blood flow which can be beneficial in the sub-acute phase of tissue injury. As blood flow may be increased it is not advised to use ultrasound immediately after injury.
  • Ultrasound may also stimulate the production of more collagen- the main protein component in soft tissue such as tendons and ligaments. Hence ultrasound may accelerate the the proliferative phase of tissue healing.
  • Ultrasound is thought to improve the extensibility of mature collagen and so can have a positive effect to on fibrous scar tissue which may form after an injury.
